A good turnout of GRVS members, together with members from Chippewa Valley NTrak, and Milwaukee Area Ntrak (MANtrak) set up a 20x42 foot ntrak layout including two branches off the central square.

This layout was by far the most complicated electricly that GRVS has ever attempted. There were nine DCC power districts, a command station and three boosters and DC power on one of the two inner loops in the layout ventral loop. All the tracks on the two branches off the main loop were DCC as were the outer and inner tracks in the loop as well as private tracks on a couple of modules. It worked well and everyone had a good time running trains. The n-trak red line had four long passing sidings (one in the yard, one in a three module set opposite the yard in the loop, and one the lebgth of each of the branches). Heavy use of thoose sidings resulted from significant bi-directional traffic, sometimes necessitating a mult-train meet which led to interesting traffic opatterns. The shortest of these siding was about eleven feet and the longest approached twenty feet.
The concensus was that this was way more fun that a simple loop layout.
