Two GRVS members made our way to Galesburg, IL to participate in the 2010 alesburg Railroad Days Train Show. We were in a 14x20 foot t-trak layout organized by the Bloomington-Normal (IL) N-TRAK.

The train show was held at Carl Sandberg Community College as part of the Galesburg Railroad Days community festival. The show is a scholarship fundraiser for the college. It has been one of the larger summer train shows, but seems to be feeling the effects of the economy as there were fewer dealers and layouts/displays this year compared to last year's show. Even with the reduction there were at least three good n-scale dealers in evidence.
The t-trak and n-trak layouts filled half the gymnasium basketball court with the rest of the gym filled with dealer tables. In addition, deakers and layouts were located in classrooms, hallways, and lounge areas of the building.

A common evening activity pursued by many of the dealers and layout exhibitors is a visit to the BNSF hump yard in Galesburg. There is a highway bridge over the yard with wide shoulders on eacg side wher one can park, get out of the vehicle, and watch trains arrive, depart, get built, and bypass the yard on the main. Here is a pictute of an unusual locomotive lashup that we saw (Norfolk Southern,. UP CN, and BNSF on BNSF tracks):
